Rollover Stability of Heavy-Duty AGVs in Turns Considering Variation in Friction Coefficient

This study analysed the impact of turning rate, centre mass height, and road adhesion coefficient on rollover stability heavy-duty automated guided vehicles (AGVs) using a multi-body dynamics simulation model. The lateral deflection angle was used as metric to evaluate behaviour AGVs, results were obtained quantitatively. findings showed that rate had largest AGV stability, followed by while least impact. Despite having lowest impact, one key factors contributing slippage, severe slippage could easily lead incidents. To further lateral-load transfer (LTR) index derived from change in wheel load generated tilt during steering. range LTR values determined for different ranges coefficient. indicated 0.23–0.45, height 0.323–0.393, minimum value 0.337 0.6.
